Our Story

Sikelela Impilo Foundation is a Public Benefit Organisation that was founded in December 2017 in the spirit of The Batho Pele Principles. Sikelela Impilo Foundation will first focus on the following disease areas: Stoma Care, Wound Care and Incontinence care in public and private sector.

Stoma, Wound and Incontinence patients tend to have comorbidity such as Cancer, Immunocompromised, Diabetes, High blood pressure etc, therefore, funds are also being raised from other organisations for patient education. Patient education is important in improving Quality of Life. Studies have shown that Patient Education Increases Patient Compliance thus, better health outcomes. Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks.

Sikelela Impilo Foundation emerged out of a pursuit to increase patients Quality of Life (QoL) in Stoma Care, Wound Care and Incontinence Care. Established in 2017, we’re an organisation driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a solid foundation of support.

At Sikelela Impilo Foundation, we believe all people living with stoma, wounds and incontinence deserve access to best treatment, care, education and support.

Governance

Sikelela Impilo Foundation is governed by a board and executives committee, to whom the Office Bearer reports.

Sikelela Impilo Foundation provides audited financial statement on an annual basis, which are published in the annual review.

Sikelela Impilo Foundations complies with the South African Labour laws.

Board members are elected on yearly basis and the board also include the donors.

We improve patients quality of life by educating both clinicians and patients.
